The live music lineup features the top unsigned local rock bands in the Seattle area as well as one national act: Windowpane, Mechanism, Future Leaders of the World, Lucid Spiral (who will be reuniting after a 5 year hiatus and whose lead singer Brandy Foltz is on the Rock Out ALS Board of Directors), The Adarna, Baby & The Nobodies and LocoMotion. Radio Personalities from KISW 99.9 will be on stage as well doing introductions.

The Festival will begin with the viewing of the Jason Becker documentary “Not Dead Yet” at Noon. Music will begin at 1:30. Jason Becker was a rock guitar prodigy, signed to a major label at the age of 17 in 1985 and was poised to become the biggest Rock Guitar God ever before he was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 19 while recording for David Lee Roth. Jason is one of the rarest cases of ALS and is still alive today, though fully paralyzed by the disease.

This is an All Ages Event with a 21+ Beer and Wine Garden provided by Vessel Wines and Ales. In addition to the Live Music and Documentary, there will be videos and speakers in between sets, Auctions and Raffles, and 2 food trucks.

Admission is a $20.00 suggested donation at the door and tickets can be won on KISW’s Loud n Local program Sunday Nights at 11:30pm a few weeks before the show. Money Raised by Rock Out ALS FEST will be split between the ALSA and ALS TDI.

KISW will be doing interviews with Rock Out ALS founder Michael “mad mike” Miller and ALS Patient/Rock Out ALS co-secretary Stephanie White Atkins that will be broadcast on all 4 Seattle Entercom Communications Stations as well as a Loud n Local show interviewing the bands performing at the Festival.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a Motor Neuron disease that interrupts the Brain’s ability to communicate with the Body’s “Voluntary Muscle Functions including movement, speech and breathing. Cognitive Thought, Emotions and the Senses are left intact. Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS. Every 90 minutes someone dies from ALS. There is an average of 30,000 people living with ALS at any given time in the US. The average life expectancy is 2-5 years. 10% of patients might live up to 10 years. 90% of cases are “Sporadic” with 10% of cases being hereditary. There is no Cure. ALS is not incurable though, it is simply underfunded.

ALS TDI (www.als.net) and its scientists actively discover and develop treatments for ALS. ALS TDI is the world's first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research. Led by people living with ALS and their families, they understand the urgent need to slow and stop this disease.

ALSA (www.alsa.org) is the only national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on EVERY front, leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships.
