Join us for this year's Charity Classic: Souls for Soles on Sunday, September 18th. This year, we will be hosting three different events for you to participate in and benefiting three different charities: ALS, Employee Partner Care and Moffitt Cancer Center.
This year we have selected Moffitt Cancer Center as well as named our Charity Classic “Souls for Soles” in honor of Tampa Palms Member, Suzanne Oles. Suzanne and her husband, Walt, joined Tampa Palms when they moved to Tampa in 2004. They enjoyed golf together on the weekends after traveling all week for their work. Eight months after moving here, Suzanne was diagnosed with lung cancer. She was treated with surgery and chemo. While recuperating Suzanne joined the WGA to meet people and get back involved with life. She also plays in the Tuesday night bridge group and the Oles' belong to Tampa Palms Vintners Group. In October of 2014, she was diagnosed with lung cancer in her remaining lung. This time she was treated at Moffitt over the next 15 months with both radiation and chemotherapy. Today she is cancer free and she attributes her survival to the excellent care she received at Moffitt. We are excited to not only honor Mrs. Oles at this event, but also all of our Members, family, and friends who have been affected by cancer and treated at Moffitt Cancer Center.
The Tampa Bay Community is invited to attend. Golf on one of the premier courses at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club, and enjoy a fabulous barbecue buffet full of our Chef’s creations.
