My nephew Corey was diagnosed and began his battle with ALS in 2008, while a junior at Middlebury College. Although this can be an intimidating diagnosis, Corey has never faltered in his battle. Eight years later he is still vivaciously fighting ALS. Corey is currently an assistant coach for thePiedmont High School Tennis Team (his alma mater), he is an enthusiastic Oakland A’s fan (attending over 75 games in 2013), and enjoys drinking and critiquing craft beer. Nobody motivates me more than Corey, and it is for him that I am running the New York City Marathon at the age of 60.

Corey Reich and all other persons diagnosed with ALS need our support. Each and every person diagnosed with ALS valiantly fights this disease; however they cannot do it alone. ALS TDI, dating back to its humble beginnings in a Cambridge basement, has always been devoted to finding a cure. As ALS TDI will modestly tell you, they are now one of the largest research programs devoted entirely to ALS in the world. Over 86% of their budget is devoted entirely to research. They are continuously researching and developing possible treatments and cures for ALS.

The ClubCorp Charity Classic golf event allows Bear’s Best Atlanta, along with over 150 ClubCorp golf and country clubs and dinner clubs, to serve our communities. The Charity Classic is a unique opportunity for all of us to collectively make a difference in people's lives. 100% of the money raised will be given to worthy causes: Augie's Quest to cure ALS, ClubCorp's own EPCF (Employee Partner Care Fund) and our local charity, the Kiwanis Club of Suwanee.
