Does anyone have experience with the herb Dong Chong Xia Cao? I understand its the basis for a drug for MS that's shown exceptional promise in trials.

This herb (fungus) is Dong Chong Xia Cao in Chinese, has a Latin name - Cordyceps sinensis. Its nickname is Chinese caterpillar fungus.

Mushrooms are also funguses (fungi), and we eat those and put them into soups and other foods.

You can read about it at these URLs:

(1) Andrew Weil, M.D. -- http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/REM00021
He sells an "energy formula" of 3 ingredients, and 1 of the ingredients is cordyceps. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/ART00426

(2) Traditional Chinese explanation --
