Run a Fundraising or Awareness Event

The Leadership Circles at the ALS Therapy Development Institute

As a member of one of the Leadership Circles, you demonstrate your leadership through annual gifts of $1,000 or greater. You provide support for ALS TDI's laboratory operations, patient services, and clinical research into potential treatments for ALS. Leadership Circle support is provided at four levels, each represented by its own Circle: a Founders' Circle, a Governors' Circle, a Directors' Circle, an Associates' Circle, and a Benefactors' Circle.

The greatest benefit of membership in the Leadership Circles is the satisfaction of supporting the research and development of an exceptional foundation in a significant and meaningful way. The philanthropy demonstrated by the members of the Leadership Circles is crucial to ALS TDI, and your support is deeply valued.

We welcome donations at the following levels:

• Founders' Circle: $100,000+ annual or $1,000,000 cumulative giving
• Governors' Circle: $25,000 to $99,999 annual giving
• Directors' Circle: $10,000 to $24,999 annual giving
• Associates' Circle: $5,000 to $9,999 annual giving
• Benefactors' Circle: $1,000 to $4999 annual giving

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double or even triple your recent tax-deductible gift and future gifts to ALS TDI if your employer has a Matching Gift Program. It's easy - first, find out from your Human Resource Department if your company offers a Matching Gift Program. Next, simply obtain and complete the employee section of the company's matching gift form and send it along with your donation to ALS TDI. ALS TDI will complete the organization's portion of the form and return it to your company. Keep in mind - retirees, spouses, and employees of subsidiary companies may also be eligible to participate in matching gift programs.

Donate Stock to the ALS Therapy Development Institute

Gifts of securities are an excellent way to make a gift to the ALS TDI. Donors receive a deduction for the entire amount of the stock transferred and avoid taxes on capital gains.

You may donate securities to ALS TDI by notifying your broker that you wish to transfer them to ALS TDI. This is called a DTC transfer. To ensure you are properly credited and acknowledged for the gift, you or your broker must advise ALS TDI of the gift by sending a letter to:

The letter should include the following information:

• Name of the donor
• Type of stock and number of shares given
• Date the gift was made
• Mean market value of gift on the day it was given, if known

Memorial Gifts

A memorial gift is a way to honor the memory of a loved one while helping to support vital research and education programs at ALS TDI. When ALS TDI receives a memorial gift we send a letter to the family member you specify, informing them of the gift. Gift amounts are not disclosed.

Planned Giving

Charitable Bequests
Bequests can be an invaluable source of support for ALS TDI. You can make a charitable bequest through your will or trust by leaving (1) a certain dollar amount, (2) a specific asset, or (3) a percentage of the "residuary estate." A gift through your estate qualifies for the unlimited charitable estate tax deduction.
