I and your Board of Governors have set this date to hold our ClubCorp Charity Classic hosted by Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club. This year we will be raising funds for three worthy charities. Two of which have local beneficiaries.
Augies’Quest is the first and is focused on providing research grants to develop drugs to counter the effects of A L S. It is estimated more than 6000 people each year are diagnosed with this disease. It is better known as Lou Gherigs Disease.
The second charity is the EPCF and is the Employee Partner Care Fund. The focus of this fund is to aid ClubCorp employees that are experiencing financial hardship. We have recently seen the impact of hurricanes, floods, health issues and death that have affected employees and their families. The fund has provided grants to employees to help them get through difficult times.
The third Charity is strictly local in its mission. Quantum Leap Farm, in Odessa, has a unique mission to empower its’ clients through hipotherapy. A combination of therapists and horses reach the clients in a special way. Some of the clients are children with physical and developmental issues. They also specialize on military and their families. Retreats are held for those with PTSD and physical issues to ease their challenges. More complete information on QLF can be found at their website www.quantumleapfarm.org.
It is important that all of us help in furthering the impact these organizations have on those in need. I thank you in advance for your support. It should be a great event.
