This year, the 2019 ClubCorp Charity Classic continues its long-time charity partnership with Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS, a nonprofit founded by the fitness industry mogul, Augie Nieto, who has lived with ALS for more than a decade. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Most people with ALS will lose their ability to move independently, walk or talk and live just 2-5 years after their first signs of disease. The organization is committed to fast-tracking effective treatments and an ultimate cure for ALS by supporting the most innovative, progressive science.
Additionally, funds will also be raised to benefit ClubCorp’s Employee Partner Care Foundation (E.P.C.F.), a fund created to help ClubCorp’s employees and their families by providing financial assistance in times of crisis. The Nicklaus Golf Clubs event will also benefit The Cocherl Foundation, who awards scholarships to children, ages K-12, within the Blue Valley School District, that have physical and or mental challenges.
