I take it that DCA is a dud, at least for PALS.

Louis,

It is way too early to have an opinion about DCA. I will give anything I try at least 3 month (except for the paleo diet, I lost too much weight and deemed it unsafe).

I will look again at the list of supplements you have your wife on. I don't see any harm in adding them.

Update:

I am taking a short break from DCA. I ran out of my supply from http://pharma-dca.com/dca.html, so I started taking from my supply from http://puredca.com/store/. However, after this dose I felt very ill for about 3 hours. I did take it on an empty stomach which you are not supposed to do. But to be safe I will wait for my next batch from pharma-dca.com.

So far I have not noticed any benefit form it but I will give it a little longer.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben and others,
any updates etc?

Into the heart, an air that kills, from yon far country blows.
What are those blue remembered hills, what sphires what farms are those.
That is the land of lost content,I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went and cannot come again

I had a blood test to baseline my values before I start DCA. I would paste the results but it will take too long to clean up the formatting. All my values are within normal range....

Ben,

Did your blood CO2 levels change after starting DCA?

Not sure. I haven't had a blood test since starting.

All.

I am going to start up DCA again. I took it for only one month (June) but was taking so many other things I stopped. Although my FRS score has dropped only 1 point in 4 months I am definitely still progressing at roughly the same rate and since I haven't had any adverse effects from what I am trying now I figure its time to start adding more DIY trials to my resume.

Thanks,

Ben

Mind you that DCA is only/mainly targeting the glycolytic rapidly proliferating, toxic astrocytes, but if you don't have too many of them (yet or after SC) you will only make life harder for your NMJs. Be vigilant of adverse peripheral signs like tingling and loss of sensation.

Don't just ask what scientists can do to speed up the solution for ALS or when they will do it, instead ask yourself what you can do right now to solve ALS asap.

Thanks for the warning Nem. I am at a point which I should be able to notice any sudden decline. Walking for instance is getting difficult so I should notice quickly if I start losing motor neurons or NMJ's.
