Lolo,
a great article and should be read by all on here.
Explains much about the state we are in concerning research etc.

Jan,
asked me, in another thread -

My question to you with all respect to you are those studies that you have found already all been thoroughly investigated by ALS researchers.
I understand your impatience because ALS lives of our patients have shortened, but I believe that many of the numerous studies already have been investigated further.
We must, I think the scientists to focus more actively to search for the source of ALS.
I see papers are reviewed between 10 and 20 years old, and i cannot believe that these studies are further investigated through the years thereafter.

This article explains why I do what I do, on here, much better than I can explain it

Thanks again Lolo

Data silos are indeed a huge problem. And astonishingly, research scientists sometimes actually steal others' work in order to publish first.

The comment above is my personal opinion. I do not represent ALS-TDI

Eric,
it's not surprisng really.
If you have worked in any large organisation you will soon get an a idea of the human condition and how egos and secrecy can hinder or change the focus of research.
