For nearly a decade, Alameda, California’s Faction Brewing Company has hosted an annual gathering of beer lovers and brewers with one goal – raising funds to help support research to end ALS. This year will be no different, with the ninth annual Ales for ALS™ Festival set to take place on August 5, 2023.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample beers from more than 40 regional breweries, including many Ales for ALS™ brews. Ales for ALS™ is an international fundraising program that brings together brewers and beer lovers to help end amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. It was created in 2013 by a Yakima Valley hop-farming family to raise funds and awareness for ALS research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI).

Every year, Yakima Chief Hops(YCH) and Loftus Ranches offer a new blend of premium hops to participating Ales for ALS™ brewers all over the world, free of charge. Each brewery then creates a unique beer, building a recipe around the year’s hop blend. They then donate $1 of every pint sold to ALS TDI, supporting their essential research to end ALS.

At the Ales for ALS™ festival at Faction Brewing, attendees will have the opportunity to sample many of these beers, and the proceeds from all ticket sales will go to further support ALS research. Festival tickets are $45 for general admission, which includes a branded festival drinking glass and unlimited pours from breweries including, Faction themselves, New Belgium SF, Beach Chalet Brewing Company, Russian River Brewing, Camino Brewing Company, and many more. VIP and designated driver tickets are also available.

Faction brewing has been a proud supporter of Ales for ALS™ and ALS TDI since 2014. Between their dedication to brewing delicious Ales for ALS™ beers and their annual beer festival, they have raised more than $350,000 to support ALS research.

With the ninth annual edition of their festival, they aim to add to this already impressive number by once again bringing together the California beer community to sample a wide range of delicious brews while supporting a great cause.
