Finding and understanding clinical trial options can be overwhelming, especially for people navigating an ALS diagnosis. That’s why we’ve updated the ALS Trial Navigator with one clear goal: to make it easier for people with ALS, caregivers, and healthcare providers to find relevant clinical trials more quickly and confidently.
The ALS Trial Navigator now features a simplified landing page, a new tool designed specifically for healthcare providers, and expanded filters that reflect our collaboration with the Network of Excellence for ALS (NEALS).
A Simpler, More Intuitive Experience
We’ve streamlined the ALS Trial Navigator landing page to make it easier to understand and navigate. The updated design helps users quickly choose the path that best fits their needs; whether they’re searching for trials for themselves or supporting a loved one by exploring research options.
A New Tool for Healthcare Providers
In response to feedback from healthcare professionals, we’ve added a new search experience created specifically for clinicians: the Healthcare Provider Quick Start (HCPQS).
The HCPS allows healthcare providers to quickly search for ALS clinical trials based on location and pared-down eligibility criteria, making it easier to identify potential research opportunities for their patients. By simplifying how trial information is accessed and reviewed, this feature is designed to allow more informed conversations between providers and people living with ALS.
While this tool is available to anyone, we continue to recommend the Guided Trial Finder for people with ALS. The Guided Trial Finder allows you to answer a series of more personalized questions and see trial recommendations change in real-time based on your answers.
New NEALS-Affiliated Trial Filtering
As part of our partnership with NEALS to help manage and maintain the ALS Trial Navigator, we’ve also added a new filter that allows users to identify trials that are NEALS-affiliated.
This added layer of filtering provides greater transparency and flexibility when exploring trial options and reflects a shared commitment to improving access to high-quality ALS research. You will also be able to email questions about how to navigate the clinical trials and how to enroll in a study, by contacting the NEALS Clinical Trial Liaison at alstrials@neals.org.
Built to Support the ALS Community
The ALS Trial Navigator is designed to help people find clinical trials that align with their unique experience and needs. These updates reflect ongoing feedback from the ALS community and our continued commitment to improving how people connect with research.
Whether you’re living with ALS, caring for someone who is, or supporting patients as a healthcare provider, we invite you to explore the updated ALS Trial Navigator and see what’s new.
