It is hard to believe it has been almost two years since we were all gathered together at the 2019 Tri-State Trek. We are so pleased to announce that after all this time, we will in fact be able to host a modified version of the Tri-State Trek in 2021 and that registration is now open!

This year, we will be hosting the 2021 Tri-State Trek with three different ways to participate. We hope that you will choose the option that best suits your needs and join us however you feel comfortable as we come together, in-person and virtually, to raise vital funds for ALS research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI).

Three Ways to Participate in the 2021 Tri-State Trek

In-Person Tri-State Trek in Massachusetts
This year, to abide by COVID-19 safety guidelines, we will be hosting a one-day “In-Person Tri-State Trek” at a limited capacity. The ride will be held in Massachusetts on June 26, 2021, and will cover a distance of 100 miles, starting and ending at the ALS TDI's new lab in Watertown. Those who register for the “In-Person Tri-State Trek” will be placed into a drawing for the chance to attend. The drawing will take place at the end of March and the individuals who are randomly selected will be given the option to ride at the in-person event. Those not selected to ride in person will still be invited to ride with us virtually! Please note, due to the limited capacity, those who have ridden previously will be given preference for the in-person ride.

Virtual Trek
“Virtual Trek” participants can ride in their homes using a stationary bike/ trainer and/or ride outdoors while practicing social distancing. Riders can cycle up to 270 miles to replicate the traditional Tri-State Trek mileage from Boston to Greenwich, or cycle the shorter 2021 ride mileage of 100 miles. While not required, we would love all participants to ride together virtually on Zwift and log their rides on Strava when possible as a way to connect, compete with friends, and enjoy the virtual company of your Trek family!

Trek Your Way
Not a cyclist? Through the “Trek Your Way” participation option you can get involved in whatever way you want! Get creative! Whether you want to walk, run, or choose any activity you enjoy, “Trek Your Way” provides a flexible way for people of all ages and skill levels to be a part of the Trek!

Though we can’t all be together in-person, all participants will be given the opportunity to stream workouts and connect virtually through events. Whichever way you choose to participate, you are part of our #TrekFamily and are contributing to our mission to end ALS.
